Motivation To Lose Weight - 3 Tips That Will Help Keep You Moving Toward Your Goal

When first starting a new diet or weight loss plan, most people are highly motivated for the first week or two and then the excitement begins to wear off. So how do you keep yourself motivated enough to continue your journey until you achieve your desired weight loss. Following are 3 tips that will help maintain your motivation to lose weight. They are:
Stay Focused on Your Why
One great way to stay motivated to lose weight is to focus on your why. When you first began your weight loss journey there was something that made you take the plunge and get started. Reminding yourself of this reason will help you stay focused and continue working toward your goal.
In the event that it doesn't, it means that your why is not strong enough and you need to reevaluate your reasons for wanting to lose weight and come up with a stronger why. A why that will motivate you so much that you would not even consider the thought of not reaching your weight loss goal.
Read Motivational Books and Other People's Success Stories
Another thing that will help you stay motivated is reading positive books and other people's weight loss success stories. Find someone who you particularly identify with and reassure yourself that if they can do it, so can you. These stories will help keep you focused on your goal and give you the motivation for losing weight that you need.
Find motivational quotes and inspiring messages that speak to you and post them in places where you will see them throughout the day. For example your bathroom mirror, on your nightstand, on your desk at work in the car etc. A little positivity can go a long way and really help keep you going.
Reward Yourself For Results
As you accomplish small goals, be sure to reward yourself for a job well done. If your goal is to lose 25 pounds do not wait until you lose all 25 pounds before rewarding yourself with something special.
Set small goals along the way such as losing 2 pounds a week or 5 pounds a month. Once you achieve that milestone in your journey reward yourself. These small achievements and rewards can be very helpful in keeping you motivated to achieve your goals. They are small reminders that you are on the right track and one step closer to your goal.
If used consistently, these recommendations can be extremely useful in helping you stick to your weight loss goals and maintaining your motivation to lose weight.

6 Basic Dumbbell Exercise For Weight Loss

Weight training has a great number of numerous benefits we can all bear witness to. It can help you lose body fat and boost your health. It helps raise metabolism which encourages the muscles to burn calories, increase bone density and thus keep bones strong. In fact weight lifting is recommended by medical institutions to shed off excess weight.
It is important to begin exercising with some stretching for at least 10 minutes. This is to warm-up the body to gradually lead the body into a workout
Basic dumbbell exercises include workouts targeting at each of these muscle groups, with repetition of ten to twelve times for each exercise:
1. Chest Press
Lie down on the floor or on a bench with your knees bent. With shoulders apart, hold up the dumbbells over with elbows bent and palms facing out. Slowly extend your arms upwards until the elbows are nearly straight (that is don't lock the elbows), and have the dumbbells touch each other. Return to the starting position, without dropping your elbows below the surface of the bench.
This exercise strengthens the pectoral muscles in the front of the chest.
2. Bent-Over Row
Start with your right knee resting on a bench. With your back parallel to the ceiling, place your right hand on the bench for support. With your left arm hanging down, hold on to a dumbbell and slowly raise the arm up to the armpit. Lower the weight to the starting point.
To do this without a bench, stand with your legs apart. Then bend your knees and lean forward at the hips.
The bent-over row strengthens the muscles at the back of the shoulder.
3. Triceps Extension
Lie on your back with a dumbbell in your hand. Place your dumbbells above your eyes with elbows bent and palms facing each other. Slowly extend your arms nearly straight. A little bend in on the arm keeps tension on the tricep muscle. If you find it hard to keep the arms extended, use the opposite hand to lend some support.
The triceps extension can be done lying on a bench or on the floor. The exercise aims at strengthening the tricep muscles in the back of the upper arm.
4. Biceps Curl
Hold a dumbbell in each hand with the palm facing upward. Slowly curl the dumbbells up and try to touch them to your shoulders.
This exercise can be done standing or seated. It strengthens the biceps muscle in the front of the upper arm.
5. Quadriceps
With legs shoulder-width apart and arms hanging at the side with a dumbbell in each hand, squat down with your knees bent no more further beyond the feet. Keep the back straight as you bend.
This exercise works on the quads, hamstrings and glutes.
6. Pressing Up Abs
Lie flat on the floor and bend the knees. Hold a dumbbell with both hands stretched upwards. Do a sit-up while keeping your buttocks on the floor.
This exercise strengthens the abdominal muscles.

Best Aerobic Exercise For Weight Loss

Aerobic exercise is one of the keys to significant and lasting weight loss. If you are knew to exercise, you should start out slow with a low impact cardio machine such as the stationary bike or the rowing machine.
If you are a little more advanced in your exercise and want to jump start your weight loss you should choose aerobic exercises that burn more calories in a shorter amount of time. Taking a high intensity cardio class is a great way to burn a lot of calories (700+ an hour) and to stay motivated. Joining a local gym will be one of the best ways to find classes and machines that will help you to lose weight quickly.
Running on the treadmill or moving on the elliptical machine are both proven ways to burn a lot of calories in a shorter amount of time. The elliptical machine is low impact and will get your heart rate up while helping you to shed pounds.
If you do not have access to a gym membership consider renting or buying exercise DVDs that are similar to group gym classes such as kick boxing or high impact dancing. You could also invest in a great pair of running shoes and take to running on your road or at your local park. You could also run on a track at your local public school or run up and down stairs for the best cardio workout.
To see results you will need to exercise at least four to five times a week doing at least 45 minutes of cardio. If you want quicker results consider adding strength training to your regime. You should start seeing results in about four weeks.
If you want to see results faster than four weeks you will need to alter your diet as well. Simply exercising is half the battle for permanent and fast weight loss. Many diet programs only set you up to fail, that is why as a personal trainer I recommend a program that is easy and fail proof such as The Day Off Diet.

If you can only find commercially grown ones be careful to peel off the waxed skin, as this contains pesticides, chemicals and wax.
How cucumbers will help you lose weight:
• Low calories: They are low in calories and have high water content. This means that they will fill you up without adding calories. They are in fact a great way to help you lose weight.

• Increase fluids: It is essential to drink as much water as possible when you try to lose weight. This will help you to feel fuller and encourage you to eat less. Water will help you to flush toxins from your body. Plus your body needs at least 8 glasses of water to function well. Cucumbers have a large ratio of water which will increase your fluid intake.

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar: A Powerful And Proven Weight Loss Aid?

The list of super foods is growing. A super food is something that contains a high number of essential nutrients that, when consumed on a regular basis, can have a positive effect on your health. Hardly a week goes by without another super food being championed by the media.
Why do we need super foods? In a nutshell, the typical diet is very low in essential nutrients. Manmade processed foods are convenient and easily available but tend to be very low in essential vitamins and minerals. Without vitamins and minerals, your body won't function properly and your health is likely to suffer as a result.
Super foods such as pure cocoa, blueberries, green tea, spinach and maca are all promoted as having amazing health qualities but the newest (but also the oldest!) super food is raw apple cider vinegar...
If you want to learn more about this exceptional health food - read on!
What is apple cider vinegar?
It has been around for centuries and was used in both cooking and medicine. Manufactured from fermented whole apples, the best apple cider vinegar is raw. That is to say it has not been pasteurized, distilled or filtered as these processes can reduce the healthful properties of the vinegar.
Raw apple cider vinegar is best purchased from health food stores rather than grocery stores. This is because the vinegar sold for cooking is of a lower quality than the vinegar made for consumption as a health supplement. When it comes to apple cider vinegar, it pays to read the label and get the best product you can find.
An age-old remedy
For centuries, apple cider vinegar has been used as a medicinal remedy for a wide number of illnesses. At one time or another, it has been used as a treatment for warts, fighting infection, as an antiseptic and even to increase fertility!
While it's hard to say if this super food really helped any of these conditions, there is no doubt that it can be very useful for improving general health and helping with weight loss.
Apple cider vinegar and health
It's very rich in essential nutrients. Nutrients are vital for health. Without nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, your cells, organs and bodily systems will not function properly and ill health is likely to follow.
Modern diets are often very low in essential nutrients and many people eat too much processed food. Processed food, as the term suggests, has been through a refining process to change the taste, texture and/or shelf life of the food and this usually means fewer or no healthful nutrients.
Many people's diets are very high in calories but low in essential nutrients so even an overweight and clearly overfed person can be suffering from malnutrition!
Consuming raw apple cider vinegar is an easy and convenient way to get a daily dose of essential nutrients.
So, what nutrients does this powerful food contain? I'm glad you asked! It's quite a long list but apple cider vinegar (and remember, go for the raw stuff and avoid any vinegars that have been filtered, pasteurized or distilled) contains these and many other essential nutrients...
• Vitamin A
• Vitamin C
• Vitamin E
• Vitamin B1, B2 and B6
• Beta carotene (a form of vitamin A)
• Vitamin K
• Potassium
• Calcium
• Magnesium
• Phosphorous
• Copper
• Iron
There aren't many foods, raw or otherwise, that can boast such a wide variety of nutrients!
A power weight loss aid?
In addition to being a miraculous health food, apple cider vinegar has been shown to be very useful for fat loss.
With such a large proportion of the population overweight, many people are looking for ways to make fat loss less of an ordeal. Exercise, strict diets, certain drugs and even surgery are all used in an effort to loss fat but recent research and plenty of anecdotal evidence suggests that good old raw apple cider vinegar can really help your fat loss efforts.
In numerous studies, apple cider vinegar has been shown to...
• Increase metabolism - the rate at which you burn calories
• Decrease appetite
• Increase energy and vitality
• Lower blood glucose levels
• Improve fat burning
In a 2004 study published by Science News Online, subjects reported a one pound per month fat loss while using apple cider vinegar despite not making any dietary or exercise changes! Just imagine how much more effective apple cider vinegar would be if combined with some moderate dietary changes and regular exercise!
How to use apple cider vinegar
If health is you aim, you should consume one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar first thing in the morning and last thing at night. This will ensure you get a good nutritional start to your day and also provide essential nutrients for the repair process that happens while you sleep.
If you are more interested in weight loss and as this food is an effective appetite suppressant, consume one tablespoon 15 minutes before all main meals. For most of us, this means one tablespoon three times a day.
If you are feeling hungry between meals, you could also try a tablespoon to ward off an unruly appetite. As well as preventing hunger, this also means you get an extra shot of healthy vitamins and minerals.
Is it safe for everyone?
Apple cider vinegar is a 100% natural product and as such is safe for a vast majority of the population to use. Not only is it safe, if can help treat a huge number of medical conditions including:
• Arthritis
• High blood pressure
• Circulatory problems
• Depression
• Indigestion
• Digestive upsets
• Headaches
• Nasal congestion
• Rashes
• Ulcers
That being said, you should never attempt to self-medicate with apple cider vinegar and should always discuss your medical requirements with your family physician. It's unlikely your doctor will tell you not to take this food but it's always better to be safe than sorry.
Providing your doctor gives the all clear, you might find that your condition and symptoms improve rapidly soon after you start taking apple cider vinegar.
Grab your spoon... !
It's clear that this super food is both healthy and useful for fat loss but only if you actually move from reading to doing. Make sure you get "apple cider vinegar with the mother." It's relatively cheap, easy to get hold off and could be one of the best things you do for your health!
Now that you understand how apple cider vinegar is a powerful weight loss aid.

7 Tips on How to Lose Weight With Diabetes

What is it and how can I lose weight with diabetes? If you have children, you should know Type I diabetes (insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus) usually strikes people younger than 35, typically appearing dramatically in children and adolescents. It affects 10 percent of diabetics and is usually triggered by a virus or auto immune system that destroys the body's insulin-producing cells, allowing glucose in the bloodstream to increase and upset blood sugar levels, resulting in hyperglycemia (too much glucose). Type I diabetics produce no insulin at all and require insulin injections to manage blood sugars and maintain good health.

Type 2 diabetes(non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus) primarily affects people over 40 ,although we are seeing younger, obese people succumb, usually develops slowly and accounts for about 90% of all diabetes cases. The body still produces some insulin - but either the insulin isn't enough or the body doesn't respond correctly. Type 2 diabetes is caused by obesity and a sedentary lifestyle.

Symptoms you should never ignore:
  • Excessive urination
  • Excessive thirst and/or hunger
  • Blurred vision
  • Weakness, fatigue and irritability
  • Circulation problems such as tingling or numbness in legs. feet or fingers
  • Slow healing of cuts (especially on the feet)
  • Frequent infections
  • Itchy skin

7 Tips on how to lose weight with diabetes
Can a healthy lifestyle help?

Yes! Being diagnosed with diabetes isn't a good enough reason to stop living! But you'll have to make some lifestyle changes if you care about your health - starting with your diet. The dietary guidelines for someone with diabetes are basically the same as for non-diabetics - eat healthily, always.

Start with starch

The American Diabetes Association now acknowledges that the overall amount of carbohydrates eaten during the day (and the correct portion size) is what matters, not the source. Regular meals, each with a similar amount of starch, will help control blood sugars. Best choices include whole-wheat or rye bread, pasta, couscous and brown rice - all are low GI (Glycaemic Index) foods, meaning they help control blood sugar levels and appetite.

Eat plenty of vegetables and fruit

Fruit and veggies have countless health benefits and are an excellent source of vitamins, minerals and fibre. Vegetable pasta, a fruity green salad, or basmati rice with sun-dried tomatoes are always to make 'five a day' easy to achieve.

Load up on dry beans, peas, lentils and soya

Legumes are high fibre. low fat and inexpensive - not to mention a tasty alternative to red meat. They can also help control blood sugars. Enjoy chicken, fish, meat, eggs and milk.
Diabetics with normal renal function don't have to modify their protein intake - they can eat small portions of these foods every day. Opt for low fat/fat free dairy products and remove all fat from meat and skin from chicken.

Eat fats Sparingly

Research has shown that low fat diets when maintained long-term contribute to modest weight loss - advisable for anyone with diabetes.

Cut out Alcohol

This is a must for any one trying to lose weight with diabetes.

Exercise:
It protects against the long-term health risks associated with diabetes, such as heart disease, obesity and stroke, and helps manage blood sugars.

Diets For Quick Weight Loss - What Is Your Best Weight Loss Plan

Diets for quick weight loss are not necessarily the best weight loss plan, and there are certainly a lot of plans you can choose from. But the key is to find a plan that suits you, one that is safe, delivers what was promised and will help you keep the weight off for years to come.
As I said, there are a lot of weight loss products that offer you fast weight loss results, however, are these products really guaranteed? Can they really live up to their guarantee of a fit and healthy body?
Here in the United States, there are about 50 million people who are using diets for quick weight loss, but unfortunately, the fast weight loss program they are using, will probably only work for about 5 per cent of these people.
The thing you should be aware of when choosing a program, is that there are a lot of fraudulent claims out there. They are expensive, they will not work, and they can be very dangerous to your health and well-being.
Losing weight cannot be done magically or overnight... if that were the case, we would all be our ideal weight! So, before you venture into the hallways of choosing a diet plan, please make note of the diets that are on the market today, and the claims they make...
Diet Pills
Diet pills are generally appetite suppressants, and the companies will suggest you use this product with a balanced diet and exercise. I have to admit that they do work, for a while. But the problem with diet pills is that when you stop taking them, the weight comes back because your appetite comes back. You end up gaining more weight because your body has gone into starvation mode and all it wants to do is add the pounds back.
Green Tea Extract Products
This tea is highly known as a strong anti-oxidant that will help lower your cholesterol and triglycerides. It will also help you lose weight, but the problem with this product is the caffeine it contains may cause insomnia and restlessness.
Protein Shakes And Diet Drinks
These drinks are used as meal substitutes. They will either replace eating breakfast, or lunch or both. Again, the problem with protein shakes is that when you stop drinking them, the weight comes back. Another problem with this type of program is that you are always hungry, and this is why most people stop using it.
St. John's Wort Supplement
This supplement will suppress your appetite and it can help you lose weight, but it can also cause serious interactions with your prescription drugs. It has also been known to cause insomnia, bring on allergic reactions, gastrointestinal discomfort and tiredness.
Diet supplements, pills, cookies, candy and protein shakes are all used to help you lose weight fast, but they don't offer a long-term solution, and a lot of them can cause heart palpitations, nervousness, agitation, mood swings and may raise your blood pressure.
Even if you want to use these products, or participate in some kind of fast weight loss program or activity... it remains that you still have to eat, and you can still lose weight by eating. You just need to know what types of food to exclude and what to include. It's not dieting... it's a lifestyle change of eating that can finally help you achieve your ideal weight, and toss those diets for quick weight loss in the trash where they belong.
Have you tried losing weight but nothing worked? Now there is a way to safely and consistently lose all the weight you want, by eating lots and lots of delicious and nutritious food. You never have to count calories and will never ever be hungry? Sounds Good!? Then check out this solution to losing weight [http://www.weight-loss-help.info], watch the video that will explain how this is possible, and discover how you can change your life [http://www.weight-loss-help.info] and your weight forever.

The Importance of Sleep in Weight Loss

If you are seeking to lose a few pounds, you may or may not have heard about how important it is to get enough sleep. This article will provide the specific reasons why sleep is important in trying to lose weight and how it will aid you in your weight-loss endeavor.
Sleep helps the body with metabolism. Metabolism is the rate at which food is taken in, processed, and digested by the body. People with slow metabolisms and fast metabolisms can eat the same amount of food and achieve different results. Sleeping regularly aids the body in metabolizing food by making it easier for the body to store energy broken down from food.
Sleeping helps keep insulin levels down. You need not be a diabetic to understand the importance of healthy insulin levels- you need only be seeking to lose weight. Healthy insulin levels help the body break down sugars, thus preventing them from being stored as excess fats.
Sleep also helps keep leptin levels normal. Leptin plays a key role on energy expenditure, and helps keep the body regular in terms of hormonal balance and in terms of levels of exhaustion. Like many neurological chemicals, it important to have a healthy balance of leptin.
Sleep also prevents insulin resistance, which is important in preventing diabetes and other blood-glucose disorders. Insulin resistance leads to a storage of sugars as body fat. By preventing insulin resistance, you prevent the aggregation of excess sugars in the body as fat.
Sleeping regularly helps maintain a healthy blood pressure. This is important, because the movement of the blood and other circulation-related functions help the body filter out waste.
Sleeping regularly also helps to keep the risk of heart disease low, because it lowers the heart rate and allows the body to repair itself.
Sleep helps give the brain a chance to relax, reboot, and reprogram. This is important, especially in reducing stress. It also helps improve mood, and thus makes it easier to have a positive outlook on life, physical activity, and otherwise restrictive diets.
Sleep helps the body replenish its energy store, thus lowering cravings for carbohydrates-- a prime energy source. By lowering carbohydrate cravings, you lessen the chances of having excess carbs stored in the body.
Sleep also slows the rate of fat storage. This is particularly important in losing weight, as fat storage is particularly undesirable. Additionally, by lowering the rate of fat storage, the rate of waste removal increases, and the body benefits through the detoxification process.
Sleep is very important in overall health, not just weight loss. Healthy sleeping patterns help the body to perform at peak physical condition and therefore helps you perform at your best in any and all aspects, including cognitively, athletically, socially, et cetera.
It is imperative that you get enough sleep, both during and not during weight loss periods. Using the advice in this article will aid you in deciding when to go to sleep, particularly during weight-loss periods. Choosing to sleep over not sleeping is an important decision but may be the one that looses you the most weight.

Of Honey And Health - 4 Fun Facts

1. It's The Only Food That Can Sustain Human Life By Itself
Surprisingly, honey contains every vitamin and nutrient needed to sustain human life, including vitamins B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid, certain amino acids and minerals calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc along with around 18% water. Granted, eating nothing but honey for any extended period of time and your mental health may not fair so well, but physically you'll be just fine. It's also cholesterol and fat free, and its sugars are slowly absorbed into the body, making honey a great addition to a balanced diet.
2. It Can Cure a Cold and Heal a Wound
Honey has been used in the tropics for centuries to treat wounds, and was even used as an antiseptic in World War I. In modern times, it's even been proven to be effective on antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria where traditional solutions aren't. Sebastian A.J. Zaat, Ph.D., a researcher involved in the work from the Department of Medical Microbiology at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam says "Honey or isolated honey-derived components might be of great value for prevention and treatment of infections caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria." The research has been able to isolate the defensin-1 protein as the active ingredient, which is a part of the bee's immune system that it adds to the honey. Good for you, bad for bacteria.
3. It Never Goes Bad
How does this help your health? Keeping some extra reserves around insures you'll always have a supply of nutritional food should you ever need it. Put some away when you're 20, and when you go looking for a late night snack 60 years later when you're 80, that honey you put away will still be as fresh, tasty, and healthy as when you stored it! Archaeologists have even found edible honey in 2,000 year old egyptian tombs. How is this possible? The high concentration of sugars, the acidity, and some of the bees added enzymes kill any bacteria that come into contact with it. Since foods usually go bad because of bacterial or fungal activity, the elimination of that lets honey last forever as long as it is in a sealed container. If the honey ever crystalizes, simply heat it up to get it back to normal. So next time you notice an expiration date on the jar of honey in your cupboard, think of it as more of a suggestion, or a reason from the manufacturer for you to buy more.
4. It's Rich in Antioxidants
When most people think antioxidant rich foods, they think berries. But honey is an often overlooked source full of disease fighting awesomeness. It's antioxidant properties destroy biologically destructive chemical agents that contribute to diseases such as cancer. A little in your coffee as a sugar substitute can go along way. It's why many cough drops and cold remedies contain honey. Research has also found that darker color honeys tend to contain more antioxidants than lighter color honeys. Not only do you get a great tasting natural food with honey, but you also get a better chance of staying healthy!

Want to Eat What You Want and Yet Lose Weight?

Self-sabotage is a common occurrence in weight loss isn't it? One of my clients confessed to me that her pattern of self-sabotage was emerging again as she was getting closer to her weight loss goal. I commended her for first becoming aware of this pattern, and second, asking for help on how to stop this unconscious behaviour and pattern.
She explained how her thoughts would spiral down to one big thought of DEPRIVATION (she had changed her diet to eating more vegetables and protein). She said, "One part of me wants to be thin, but another part of me feels I deserve it to eat what I want!"
In Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), we call this an Internal Conflict - when two (or more) parts are in conflict. In any context, when a person states that a part of them wants one thing, but another part wants something else, there is a conflict in their beliefs, and therefore in this case, she believes she can be at her ideal weight and she also believes that she deserves to eat what she wants. Could you have both? Yes, but how you represent that belief is up to you. You will agree that this is very common in the diet industry and it is the reason people struggle with their weight. If this inner conflict is not solved, it will keep coming up when they go from one diet to another.
I asked my client to come up with an image or symbol of the part of her that wants to be thin and place it on one of her open palms. She had an image of herself in jeans and a t-shirt, full of confidence and creating conversations freely. I asked her to come up with an image or symbol of the part of her that feels that she deserves to eat what she wants and place it on the other open palm. She had an image of herself in sweat pants feeling sorry for herself.
I asked her, "What is the positive intention of the part that is saying yes to being thin?" She replied, "Confidence! Feeling like I can go up to anyone I want and strike a conversation. This part is about creating new relationships."
"What is the positive intention of the part that is saying no to being thin?" I asked. She replied, " Fulfillment. It is helping me overcome negative emotions like stress and loneliness. This part is all about supporting me, but it is not helping."
After acknowledging and going deeper with the positive intention behind each part, she realized in the end, each part wanted the same thing for her - to make her feel good. I guided her to create a third part that is a combination of the first two, that would fulfill both intentions.
The symbol for her third part was an image of herself running and feeling free. She shared the significance behind her symbol - she had joined a running group and enjoyed the feeling it gave, but gave it up because of her weight. She explained that this part of her will keep her moving toward her goal of healthy eating (that does not mean deprivation), building confidence and letting go any stress. It is that feeling and image that will motivate her and fulfill both intentions.

What Are Your Stumbling Blocks?

Are you like a lot of people who want to lose weight, doing the same things as always when you diet and am having a hard time seeing results? I have listed some things that you may not be aware of that may be in the way of you losing weight or have even caused you to gain weight.
Making just a few changes will make a difference in your weight loss quest.
Clear the "clutter" out of your refrigerator and pantry. Rid yourself of temptation by removing anything that will tempt you to make an unwise choice. If you have to have a "splurge" always do it away from home so you can better control what you eat.
Do not weigh yourself more than once a week. Weighing too often can set you up for failure. Be sure to weigh on the same day of the week, the same time of day and in similar clothes or naked.
In today's world we can "super-size" our order for $.59 or less. If you do that eat half and take the rest home for later. Restaurant servings are sometimes big enough for 2. Either share a meal or take half of it home. Put it in a take out box before you eat.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day as you are breaking your fast from the previous day and need to refuel your body. Not eating is not the answer if you want to lose weight. In fact, the opposite can happen. Not eating breakfast can lead to binge eating at lunch or dinner.
If you want to lose weight you need to be sure to get enough sleep. If you're up late chances are that you are also eating. Your hormone levels increase hunger and make you not as full when you are sleep deprived. Try to get 8 hours of sleep a night.
Drink plenty of water and/or calorie free beverages. Thirst can be confused with hunger and you may end up eating when a glass of water was really all you needed.
You didn't gain the weight overnight so don't expect to lose it in a few weeks. You are more likely to keep the weight off if you lose it slowly. Set yourself a goal of 10%, then reward yourself with something, other than food, like a pedicure. Reset your goal and repeat the process.
As we women get older and experience menopause we may find ourselves gaining weight, but changing hormones are probably not the cause. Changes in lifestyles and aging slows the metabolism so we burn less calories, so we gain weight. Try to be mindful and what you eat and get some kind of exercise every day
If you want to lose weight it is very helpful to have a diet "buddy" or family member who are your support group. They help keep you focused and accountable for your actions.

Eating Fish For Weight Loss?

Researchers have shown that a diet plan that incorporated with seafood was being linked to greater weight loss results and better body weight management. A 2004 published study showed that an eating diet plan which is rich in fish not only helps in reducing leptin levels in blood, which is hormone that stimulate the storage of excess calories in form of body fat, but also promotes greater weight loss.
Why Fish Can Help To Lose Weight
The reason why a diet plan that rich in fish helps in reducing the leptin hormone is possibly due to the special fatty acids, which are omega-3 fatty acids docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) that can suppress leptin hormone in our body. Omega-3 fatty acids are categorized as a group of essential fatty acids. Essential fatty acids are generally fatty acids which cannot be synthesized through the body system but they are necessary to human body by playing an important role with regard to normal metabolic process. Probably the most accessible nutritional approach of obtaining DHA and EPA is cold water fish, including sardines, herring, mackerel and salmon.
Deep sea fish plays an important role in weight control as their DHA and EPA decrease the building up of extra body fat in the body by controlling the body fat cells numbers and size, thus leads to greater weight loss results. Diet that low in omega-3 fatty acids or high in unhealthy dietary fats is likely to associate with increase in number and size of body adipose cell which is the main cause of heart problem.
Benefits Of Omega-3 Fatty Acids
The truth is, people who are looking for fat burner today might consider looking for cold water fish within their fridges, or perhaps omega-3 fatty acids health supplements. You can now start eating to lose weight. The benefits of taking seafood rich in EPA and DHA include:
· Reduce the weight gain which cause by high fat diet
· Reduce the accumulation of fat cell/adipose cell, particularly in abdominal part
· Make improvement for better glucose and fat metabolic process
· Promote the circulation of blood
· Improve the breakdown of fibrin, a substance associated with clotting and also scar tissue formation
· Decrease blood pressure levels in blood vessel
· Lower blood triglyceride levels
· Regular intake may reduce the associated risk of secondary as well as primary heart attack
Tips To Choose The Right Fish
You do not need to get worried with regards to mercury issue if you are not a kid, currently pregnant or do not consume seafood seven days in a week. However it important for taking some additional simple steps when choosing and taking in a fish diet to reduce body weight.
First, the bigger the size of fish means the older it is and there might possible to have mercury accumulation. Vegan Diet to Lose Weight

Hello guys I'm going to share a few ideas for the vegan diet to lose weight. Do you know anyone either personally or famous who is vegan? What did they tell you about that lifestyle? As a vegan you are automatically put in an all plant based diet whether you are trying to lose weight or not. Guides that talk about a certain vegan diet to lose weight or two can help you stay on track, but as a vegan you don't really need one. In a lifestyle of ingredient label readings and exercise, everyday you're already working on losing or maintaining your body weight.
The Power of Label Reading
Reading ingredient labels are very crucial to the vegan diet to lose weight. It comes second nature to all vegans since they must avoid all animal products. Most products that are in fact vegan are not specially marked so it always pays to read the label. You may find that the products labeled vegan are, for one thing, hard to come by and another thing, they can be pricey at times, but a vegan diet to lose weight doesn't have to be pricey with the power of label reading. Specially branded vegan items may be costly, however using your label research on multiple cheaper items can uncover certain vegan products that don't blatantly advertise the product as vegan. Other than the content, you can also learn the nutrients found in a product which is important for any diet. In general, vegan foods are lower in fat but reading and comparing different product labels can optimize your weight loss goal. Adding exercise will improve your weight loss as well.
The Exercising Truth
Everyone knows you can lose weight by exercising, but not everyone exercises when they want to lose weight. I'm telling you know, if you truly want to lose fat the natural way, you must have an exercise plan. When it's paired with a vegan diet to lose weight, be prepared for results! You don't have to spend hours at the gym pumping iron if that's not your style because how can you stick with something you don't like? The main reason people don't stick with their exercise is because they hate doing it. Being active in any way possible is good, instead of sitting in front of the TV watching a show you're only slightly interested in for an hour, use that hour to do some cardio and other exercise. Doing that alone will get you results, but if you're feeling it, why stop there? Exercise in your way on your schedule and you're more likely to stick with it.
Athletes Understand
Top athletes have been known to pair exercising with a vegan diet to lose weight for improved performance. As a vegan you don't face the fat from non-vegan foods as often so you'll feel healthier and feel like you're ready to take on an exercise instead of feeling weighted down by unnecessary fat from a quadruple beef patty you just had as "lunch". Stick with this vegan diet to lose weight and you'll also notice how much more refreshed and active your days become which will improve your chances on actually wanting to work out. Since exercising benefits you physically, then the combination of feeling good mentally with the vegan diet betters your chances of staying with the plan and achieving your weight loss goal guaranteed.
Be Vegan!
Once you start noticing that a vegan diet to lose weight is working substantially in keeping fat off of you and making your body healthier than the guy on a meat diet to lose weight, then there just doesn't seem to be a reason, that makes sense, to go back to your old eating habits unless being healthy just isn't right for you. Become a vegan. Understand that a vegan's healthy diet is only but a partial benefit of the lifestyle.

The Best Protein Sources for Vegetarians

Protein is a nutrient everyone needs in their diet; it is essential for muscle development and movement, protects the body from infections and acts as an enzyme in several biochemical reactions; so if your diet doesn't include meat, you'll need to discover some protein sources for vegetarians. The functions of protein are endless and most Americans get more protein than they need merely from animal products; however, protein can be found in many other foods besides animal products. If you are a vegetarian or are thinking about becoming one, this list will help you discover the best protein sources for vegetarians.
-Quinoa and other whole grains.
Most whole grains are considered "incomplete proteins" which means they do not contain all of the essential amino acids. They must be coupled with other incomplete proteins, like beans, in order to provide the nutrient adequately. Quinoa, however, is a source of whole grain that is considered a "complete protein." In fact, one cup of cooked quinoa provides about 18 grams of protein-so eat up!
-Beans, lentils and legumes.
All of these healthy foods are excellent sources of protein. You can add them to almost every dish or meal to make it taste even more delicious. They also contain several other nutrients that your body needs.
-Tofu and soy products.
People are often hesitant to try these items, but they are actually quite tasty! Soy ads plenty of flavor to foods-and is a great substitute for milk products. Several brands of tofu are fortified with other nutrients, including vitamin B12, iron and calcium - three nutrients vegetarians may need help with. You can add tofu to just about anything you cook, including stir-fries, pastas, soups and salads.
-Nuts, seeds, and nut butters.
These foods make great snacks for vegetarians, but should be enjoyed in moderation due to their high fat content. They contain a number of nutrients and a portion of fiber that should keep you nourished throughout the day.
-Veggie burgers and meat substitutes.
Most of these products are made from soy protein, wheat protein, or a combination of the two. They usually taste just like the real thing! These are convenient for vegetarians who want to attend barbecues and other events where meat is served.
-Tempeh.
Chances are that you haven't ever heard of tempeh. It is made from cooked and slightly fermented soybeans and formed into a patty. It can be prepared in a variety of ways, so experiment with it to increase your protein intake.
There are some excellent protein sources for vegetarians, but it may take some experimenting to figure out what you like the most. Don't be discouraged-you will get plenty of protein if you regularly consume these foods.

Your Weight Loss Problem: How-To Cure It By Watching Movies

Is it possible that you could actually lose weight while watching your favorite shows or reading your favorite books?  YES, it is!  Read this article to find out how...
I don't know anything about you but if you're anything like me then you struggle with a weight loss problem.  Your weight loss problem consists of you struggling to keep your weight down, or struggling to make your weight go down.

Most people who see me wouldn't believe that I have a weight loss problem, but I do.  I've battled bulimia and constant gains and losses in weight, of ten pounds each time.  Thats what I call a big weight loss problem.

A lot of women and men with the same or a similar weight loss problem would sympathize with me I'm sure.  I want to look good (who doesn't?) so that always motivates me to go on a diet.

But after sticking to a diet for a week and dropping the unwanted weight my love for good tasting food overpowers my need to feel attractive and the weight piles back on pound by pound.

There is always exercise to help with a weight loss problem, I remind myself as I lie lazily on the couch chomping down on one of my non-diet treats.  "Sure!"  I groan "I don't feel like wearing my butt out without seeing any results for weeks at a time."

Whenever I start a workout regimen I only stick to it for a few weeks (usually less) and then I get bored and drop it.  So my weight loss problem continues.

How many other women I wondered (or men, for that matter) get bored while exercising?  I thought about that for awhile then I set about to find a solution to help all those poor people (and myself too, of course) with this weight loss problem.

First I asked myself: What did I like to do?  What did I find Interesting?
"Hmmmm, well" I thought "I like dancing, but long periods of it are exhausting.  I like to read, to listen to music, and I really dislike being on my feet for over long periods of time.

What could possibly combine all or most of these to make my exercising interesting and help solve my weight loss problem?

The solution to my weight loss problem was amazingly simple!

I own an old stationary bike, and I do mean OLD, but the important thing is that it operates.  You can do this with any form of stationary bike, whether it's a twenty year old model or an up to date model.

It doesn't matter whether you own the stationary bike or use a gym's or your local YMCA's or YWCA's facilities.

My weight loss problem solution is this:

Find something engrossing to read.  It could be a novel or your favorite magazine.  Or listen to music that you enjoy, you could even use audio books or any different CD's or things you could listen to.

I suppose if your bike was somewhere around a television or computer with a DVD player, you could even watch your favorite movie.

The next step is to mount your stationary bide and start biking while reading or doing any of the above listed activities, and not to get off for at least 45 to 60 minutes, except for an occasional rest every quarter of an hour.

I usually just keep biking away the whole time and sometimes I bike longer because I'm so engrossed in what I'm reading, and I won't allow myself to read it once I'm off the stationary bike.

After a week of this, without change in my eating habits, or any dieting, I'm maintaining a healthy weight.  Best of all I'm not putting on any new pounds, and my legs look visibly slimmer.

So I've kissed my weight loss problem goodbye, and I'm saying hello to slim jeans and size 6 dresses, and you can too.

For the first time in a long while I actually look forward to putting on a bikini.

How to Be Healthy While Dining at a Restaurant

There are many different restaurants serving unique specialties. If you recently find yourself conscious about the foods you eat, and are afraid that eating at a restaurant might make you fat or unhealthy, here is a guide that will help keep yourself healthy while dining at your favorite, or at a new, restaurant.
Basically, what you will have to do is to choose only those recipes that contain ingredients with high nutritional value. Or, at least have one order that contains negative calorie to keep the calorie count from increasing to an undesired level. So, what ingredients are they?
Zucchini
To start with, Zucchini contains vitamins and minerals your body needs every day, including vitamins A, C and K, manganese, potassium, magnesium and folate - a vitamin that helps the blood work more efficiently, best taken by expecting women to help prevent neural tube defects in the fetus. Beyond that, Zucchini is low in calories, cholesterol, saturated fat and sodium, making it a versatile vegetable ideal for individuals looking for ways to be fat-free and healthy.
Cauliflower
This green is probably one of the overlooked vegetables. However, its nutritional value is recommended to anyone looking for ways to fight several diseases. Its 13C, or indole-3-cabinol, and Photonutrient Sulforaphane contents are two main ingredients that help the body counter more than a few illnesses. Its Folate content is recommended for anemia patients. And consuming three florets of cauliflower each day will offer you about 2/3 of your daily vitamin C requirement.
Lettuce
There are at least 87 varieties of this perfect-for-salad vegetable. It aids digestion, promotes liver health, protects you against heart disease, cataracts and stroke. What's even great about lettuce is that it is one of the low-calorie vegetables, which means for every 100 g of fresh lettuce greens you only take 15 calories. This sought-after green is also rich in vitamins K, A and C.
Cucumbers
When your mouth needs something to munch, cure it with this vegetable packed with nutrients. Cucumber is a good source of vitamins your body needs every day, including but are not limited to B vitamins, C, A, folic acid, zinc, calcium and iron. It is also an excellent source of silica - a trace mineral that supports the strength of the tissue that holds your body together.
Carrots
If you want a guilt-free snack, you can find one with carrots. Instead of dealing with crackers and chips, consider this rich in water and fiber crunchy snack to enhance your digestive function while keeping you full longer between meals, not to mention for every cup of chopped carrots you get 52 calories with no fat. This root vegetable also comes packed with vitamins K and C, pro-vitamin A, magnesium and B vitamins.
Celery
This crunchy, low-calorie vegetable is not just a good alternative to brownies and cookies, but it does serve as a key part of your health support. It contains a dozen other types of antioxidant nutrients, including lunularin, bergapten and psoralen, which can protect you against unwanted oxygen damage to your organ systems, vessels, blood and cells. This crispy snack is also a good source of vitamins B1, B2 and B6, calcium, potassium and folic acid.
