Foods to Eat to Lose Weight - Are Egg Yolks Good For You?

Many people think that they know everything about nutrition and foods to eat to lose weight, but are actually completely ignorant. However, this is not their fault since the Internet is full of wrong information. This is due to the fact that people posting about health and nutrition related issues in forums have never actually picked up a course on nutrition and weight loss. They simply type what they believe is correct. That is also the reason why most people think that egg yolk is the worst part of the egg, maybe even including you! In reality, egg yolk is the best part of the entire egg!
By throwing away the egg yolks and only eating the whites, you are basically dumping the most mineral loaded, antioxidant-rich and nutrient dense part of the egg! Yolks are so rich in so many nutrients, I will take too long to list them all out.
In comparison, the egg whites are quite lacking in nutrition versus the yolks. Although egg whites contain protein, the yolks are the ones which balances out the proteins and makes it easier to be absorbed by the human body.
However, there is a very common disagreement with my argument, and that is eating whole eggs will increase your cholesterol levels excessively. That is false!
Firstly, since eggs have higher amounts of dietary cholesterol, your body will naturally reduce its production of cholesterol. Conversely, if you do not consume sufficient levels of cholesterol, your body produces more of it naturally since it is important for many bodily functions.
There are many studies recently showing that eating whole eggs will actually increase your good cholesterol levels significantly more than bad cholesterol levels.
Now, we have come to the million dollar question. How does egg yolks help in losing weight?
Although eating whole eggs will result in higher calorie levels than just eating whites, the egg yolks are so dense in nutrients that is actually increases the overall nutrient density for each calorie consumed from eating eggs. Basically, this helps to control your appetite for the day so you will actually consume less calorie overall. Additionally, the healthy fats in egg yolks aid in maintaining a healthy level of fat-burning hormones in the body.
Basically egg yolks are so incredibly nutrient dense, that it will actually help you in losing weight. So the next time before you blindly believe some food is not nutritious or beneficial for your weight loss, research carefully on it first!

Good Oils For Fat Loss

Why are some oils and fats bad for cooking and make you fat? Some oils raise your LDL ("bad") cholesterol and lowers your HDL ("good") cholesterol, which increases your risk of heart disease. Relying on just any oil to cook with may be very bad for your health. Caution should be taken when buying and using cooking oil to prevent long-term health damage and increase your body fat.
Here are some tips for buying and using cooking oils.
  • Soybean oil which is usually known as a vegetable oil. Contains synthetic trans fat and is probably the worst fat you can eat. Soybean oil is very high in linoleic acid and in omega-6 fatty acids. Your body needs a balance of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids for optimal health. Soybean oil goes rancid quickly which can lead to cancer and other diseases.

  • Margarine is another oil or made of vegetable oil which is high in trans fats which are bad for you. Even if the label does say "low in trans fat" or "no trans fat" it can still contain up to 0.5 percent trans fat and the manufacturer can still claim "no trans fat".

  • Canola oil is typically genetically modified. It contain a smaller amount of erucic acid than it used to but it has not been completely taken out. Erucic acid has been linked to heart damage.

  • Corn oil is another oil which has an imbalance of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, with more omega-6. Corn oil will last longer than soy and canola oil for going rancid, but caution should be taken with this oil too. The majority of corn these days is genetically modified also.

  • Olive oil is very healthy for you but is not a good cooking oil. When used a higher cooking temperatures it releases free radicals which are bad for you. Free radicals are organic molecules responsible for aging, tissue damage, and possibly some diseases.
Ok, so if these are bad are there any good oils to cook with? Yes, there is. Here are some of the good oils and fats to cook with.
  • Coconut oil is very good for cooking and can handle the high heat in the kitchen. It helps lowering LDL cholesterol in your body and it helps in lowering body fat also.

  • Butter from grass-fed cows is great and helps you lose fat. This butter is rich in antioxidants and helps your cholesterol levels. Grass-fed cows are much healthier and contain conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which fights fat so you can lose the weight.

  • Sesame seed oil is good for cooking and salads. It's been linked to lowering LDL cholesterol levels and is high in antioxidants and vitamin E. It is healthy for you and helps in lowering fat levels in the body.

  • Grape seed oil is good for cooking and is high in antioxidants. You can sauté or bake with this oil and is excellent on salads.

3 Guaranteed Ways to Lose Belly Fat Fast

Ok, so let's start this article out right and be very clear: This article is NOT a "You-need-to-diet-and-exercise-more" type of article. We all know that - that is a proven way to lose weight and trim down, and we ALL are aware of it. I think it is safe to say that the "Hows" and "Whats" of that phrase are what counts and also, are the #1 reasons we all spend time searching for how to lose that pound or two. This article is intended to address the "Diet and Exercise" philosophy with some guidance... what kind of diet? What kind of exercise? Below are 3 ways that are guaranteed to help anyone lose belly fat fast, and slim down into those pants or dresses they've always wanted to
Courtesy of my involvement with the US Marine Corps, it is safe to say that I know a thing or two about exercising... but let me disclaim this right here: The techniques I will outline below have worked for me, my fiancee and my squad mates and friends in the Marine Corps, but they MAY NOT work for you. You will have to put them to the test for yourself. Here we go:
1) Stay AWAY from ultra-processed foods. This is a big factor in weight retention, even if you are exercising. Some notable examples are potato chips (usually deep fried and packaged), almost all kinds of pre-packaged sweets, and snack cakes. Honestly, they are JAM PACKED with preservatives and trans-fats. If you are going to eat sweets, MAKE THEM YOURSELF. But be conscious and limiting - a few cookies a week is fine, but a few an hour, is NOT.
2) When you exercise, focus on high intensity short term workouts. Here is what this means - when you run miles and miles per day, and THAT is your only workout, you are shorting yourself tremendously. The body burns more fat when it is shocked - in the Marines we do a "Sing song" workout, where for 10 minutes at a time, we perform Pushups, Running in place, Crunches, Jumping Jacks, and then Running in place again. We do each individual workout for approximately 20 seconds, and then move to the next one - when we've finished the first set, we start over and continue for 10 minutes. THIS is SHOCK FACTOR. On a distance run, your body learns what to expect after about a mile... but with a high intensity and varied workout, it is constantly surprised. And when the body is surprised, it burns fat... and a lot of belly fat, thinking that if it doesn't, it will die! You trick your body and believe me, the shape you are in is unbelievable when you've done this type of exercise for a few weeks!
3) Eat often, except right before a workout. No this does not mean BigMacs and cheeseburgers - the food you eat must be rich in protein (lean meats like fish and chicken are good) and drink LOTS of water. Vary your diet a bit too - eat the occasional grain and sweet, but keep the bulk of diet high in protein and complex carbohydrates
I can promise each of you - if you keep these principles, you WILL be successful - did I say it would be instant? Of course not. But it WILL happen... it's like growing up. It doesn't come quickly, and usually not easily either, but it does come. Best of luck burning up those carbs and cutting out that belly fat!

Great Weight Loss Program

Every great weight loss program leans on a defined structure that allows you to be successful in your goal to reduce corporal fat.
For that reason it is important that you know the weight loss basics that will finally help you follow a program to become thinner. If the program you are following does not include these two factors, it is more likely that you will end up frustrated, and with some extra pounds, so pay attention:
Diet and exercise must go together
1. The first and most important rule is to reach the Caloric Balance, in other words, the fastest way to lose weight is making a diet, so that less calories are eaten than those that are burned throughout the day.
Maintaining the balance between what it is spent and what is acquired is the first and more important weight loss rule. This factor is the one that produces more positive results in the short term. But it is a situation that cannot be sustained for an undefined time, since prolonged caloric restriction is not recommended.
It is important that a healthy balanced diet becomes a habit. It is necessary that you develop a natural daily routine which wont stress your will.
2. Another important factor that not just helps you in burning more calories, but also promotes important health improvements is physical activity. This is so because exercise accelerates general operation of the body and leads to a higher quality of life.
Exercise is an excellent complement of a diet in a great weight loss program. It is the main element in prevention of metabolic diseases programs, fighting the worse factor of risk than it is known: the sedentary lifestyle.
In order to get thin, exercise is necessary to burn 2,500 kilocalories a week, at least 800 of these kilocalories must be eliminated with intense exercising routines. A good diet program should contribute with the rest.
A sustained increase of metabolic cost of 200 kilocalories a day by means of physical activity could reduce corporal weight in around 5 kg in a period of 6 months, maintaining the caloric contribution through the diet, in balance.
The best weight loss programs for men and women must consider both, diet and exercise. Diet only won´t make it alone, and it is not intrinsically healthy, unless you include some physical activity. Therefore, diet and physical exercise are the foundations of a great weight loss program.
But never forget to prepare your mind developing patience and perseverance, so won´t give up in your plan to lose weight.
When people start a fitness routine to loose weight, and ignore making changes in their diet they run the risk of increasing body weight because of a natural response of the human body that make them feel more hungry. When we make exercise, our body prepares to maintain its natural energy reserves, and starts asking for more, so we feel hungry. Therefore it is important to anticipate yourself to this natural reaction of your body and prepare to follow a diet that will help you reach your caloric balance and feel satisfied.
